The Walled Lake Northern junior varsity dance team put on a performance of a lifetime at the UDA National Championships in Florida earning a record-breaking score to take silver in JV Pom.

The JV Knights score of 90.4875 was their highest in program history and marked their 5th-straight medal in pom at the UDA National Championships. Last year, they also finished runner-up after winning their first national title in 2022.

“Our small, but mighty, team of eight danced with every fiber of our being last weekend with a division of teams two to three times our size,” said JV dance coach Christina Bierley. “While we could have let this intimidate us, we chose to view the pressure as a privilege… After months of pressure, heat, and grit, we had so much fun sparkling out on the nationals’ floor!”

The defending national champion Walled Lake Northern varsity dance team also advanced to the finals this year in both small varsity pom and jazz. The Knights took 5th place in pom and finished 15th in the nation with their jazz performance.
