Cassandra Chapman receives Golden Apple Award

Walled Lake Early Childhood Center Head Start preschool teacher and Walled Lake Paraeducators Association president, Cassandra Chapman, received a Golden Apple Award at the March 6, 2025 Board of Education meeting.

Chapman was nominated by Early Childhood Center preschool teacher, Victoria Blake, for being passionate about her work and going the extra mile for her students’ families and all paraprofessionals across the district.

“Cassandra continuously works hard to make great changes around her and does it all with a warm smile,” said Blake. “She loves to explore new and unique ways of connecting with others, whether that be through planned events for the district or simply reaching out by email.”

“Her passion for her students, her program and her community is what sets her apart,” added Blake.

“Cassandra is a dedicated and loving teacher that wants every student to succeed to their fullest potential,” said Sarah Davey, Director of Early Childhood. “She strives to form relationships with families, knowing this is an essential part of the whole student approach.”

“Cassandra excels at creating fun and engaging lessons for her students,” continued Davey. “She is an advocate for early childhood and her peers, and she works hard outside of school hours to support her team achieve professional goals.”
